Who is behind Discover Colombia?
Lukas is half Colombian and half Swiss and knows the country and its people like the back of his hand. Numerous family members live all over the country.
In addition to organizing trips, Lukas, a passionate floorball player, was involved in the Colombian project of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA): “Diplomacia Deportiva”. This project enabled young people from conflict-ridden regions of Colombia to spend time in Switzerland. Through sports, culture and education, they were shown prospects for their lives away from violence and crime.
In Switzerland, Lukas runs an event agency with which he organizes various events and festivals. One of these is the Lakelive Festival in Biel/Bienne, where Colombian stars such as CARLOS VIVES, JUANES, BACILOS, CHOCQUIBTOWN and many more perform time and again. In this way, Colombia’s fascinating joie de vivre can be celebrated in Switzerland.
Thanks to all these commitments, Lukas maintains a good relationship with the Colombian Embassy in Bern, the Swiss Embassy in Bogotá and the FDFA.

In addition to great and authentic trips, kolumbienentdecken.ch founder Lukas Hohl organizes the LAKELIVE FESTIVAL in Biel/Bienne with his event agency Eventra GMBH. A permanent fixture at the festival on Lake Biel is the traditional Latin Night, at which a number of well-known Colombian musicians such as CARLOS VIVES, BACILOS, JUANES, CHOCQUIBTOWN, Diego Torres, Ozuna, Gente de Zona, David Bisbal and many more have performed. “It is a matter close to my heart to be able to bring Colombian culture to Switzerland!” says Lukas Hohl-Jaramillo, a dual Colombian/Swiss citizen. The Lakelive takes place for 10 days at the end of July and beginning of August.
