How did you perceive the prior support and advice in Switzerland from kolumbienentdecken.ch?

I found the support beforehand very helpful. Putting the trip together with your support was very good.

What was your motivation for traveling to Colombia?

Nine years ago, we welcomed an exchange student into our family for a year. We never lost contact with him after he returned home. He often asked us when we would come to visit him in his country. So this was a reason for us to perhaps travel together as a family for the last time.

Did your expectations match what you experienced?

The expectations were fully met.

Can you tell us a highlight of your trip to Colombia?

It is very difficult to pick out a highlight, as the different regions are all unique in their own way. For us as a family, the highlight was definitely meeting up with our exchange student, his wife and the children. They put together a 2-day program for us in Bucaramanga. Last week, they spent three days with us on the Caribbean coast, we went hiking in the Tayrona together and we will never forget the giant crocodile we encountered there.

How was the on-site support? Did you feel well looked after?

The on-site support was unique. The agency contacted us almost every day via WhatsApp. In Bucaramanga, we were looking for a bus with a chauffeur: they were immediately able to put us in touch with a contact person who organized this for us.

What did you like less?

The excursion to the Rosario Islands was completely overcrowded. The downside was that we were there on a Saturday and there were a lot of tourists. The boats were totally overcrowded.

How would you describe Colombians?

People in Colombia are always cheerful and helpful, no matter how bad they are.
